The Well Designed Journeys Story
At Well Designed Journeys, small group travel is about the voyage, not the destination. A voyage for Dora Theiss and Vickie Morgan resulted in a unique Brentwood, Tennessee-based travel agency that creates distinctive journeys for discerning travelers.
Growing up in a small town outside of the great melting pot of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dora wanted to learn about other cultures and see the world. Her wanderlust found its natural expression in travel planning. She plunged into learning everything she could and earned the professional travel certifications of : Certified Travel Associate (CTA) and then the highest level at Certified Travel Counselor (CTC). CTC is parallel to the Certified Travel Industry Executive (CTIE). She enjoys sharing her love of travel with others.
Vickie’s lifelong love of travel led her to spend as much time as possible traveling and exploring new cultures. A retired air traffic controller, Vickie is a Certified Travel Associate (CTA) and delights in sharing luxury travel with amazing men and women who love excitement and experiencing new places, people, and adventures.
Dora and Vickie met five years ago when they were both travel agents working in the same city. A friendship followed, and as they traveled on agency familiarization trips with their husbands, they realized there was an unfulfilled need for more intimate small group travel packages with exceptional itineraries and legendary personalized service.
They knew there had to be a better way of providing a spectacular experience for the 40+ through baby boomer traveler who desires customized luxury travel. Seeking to shatter the typical travel mold and craft personalized, one-of-a-kind journeys for travelers in the Nashville, Tennessee, area and across the United States, Dora and Vickie teamed to create Well Designed Journeys.
The vision Dora and Vickie shared was a brand-new concept in luxury travel: customized small group travel worldwide for discriminating travelers with a passion for extraordinary adventures and exceptional experiences. The journeys they created would be unusual, stylish, and, above all, fun.
