The beauty of South America is like no other on earth, and when first-time visitors take a luxury vacation there, they always mention that they wish they hadn’t waited so long to visit. Three of our favorite countries are Brazil, Ecuador, and Columbia, so we thought we’d start with those and introduce you to South America.

    Brazil

South America’s largest country, Brazil has over 4,000 miles of coastline, so you’ll have plenty of room to enjoy the ocean and tropical white-sand beaches. You’ll also love the majestic waterfalls, especially if you travel south to the border with Argentina. The Iguazu Waterfalls are an amazing show of over 200 separate waterfalls over 150 feet high. You’ll feel completely surrounded by them, and you’ll be mesmerized by their beauty. Read More | Comments

What many people don’t know about that eruption is that it also altered the course of the Sarno River. When you’ve been traveling on a luxury vacation you may not feel as if you look your best. That can be distracting you from enjoying yourself, and we have some ideas to help. This post will give tips to look your best when traveling for long periods across the world or just across the country!

Smile. We listed this first because even if you don’t feel you look your best, a smile instantly makes you feel better. You’ve arrived at your destination, and that’s something to celebrate! Smiling releases endorphins that make you happy and everyone is more beautiful with a smile.

Keep it simple. Consider putting on a minimum of makeup and wearing your hair in a simple style—you want to be as comfortable as possible while you’re traveling. It’s much easier to add makeup than to touch up what you’re already wearing, and if you feel your makeup doesn’t look right, you won’t be as happy and relaxed as you should be.

Melanie and Adam Waldman on Skyline Drive in Northern Virginia

Today, we feature an amazing guest blogger, Melanie Waldman, the writer/photographer behind Travels With Two, a travel blog designed to inspire workaholic couples to use their vacation time to travel together. In this interview, Melanie shares insider tips on couples travel.

See below for our interview (**NOTE: All images in this post were taken by and are provided by Melanie Waldman):

What do you believe appeals most to couples this year in terms of travel?

In many parts of the first world, the economy is still inching its way back to normal, so it’s not surprising that all-inclusive vacations are increasingly popular. However, there are a lot of people–myself included–who feel this locks them in to an overly-packaged version of their destination. Fortunately, voluntourism is also on the rise, a trend that offers altruistic projects and some side relaxation in truly far-flung corners of the world. These sorts of trips are often cheaper than going on a more luxurious route, providing invaluable opportunities to leave your usual sedentary lifestyle behind and work together to do something helpful for people, animals, or both.

It’s hard to believe August is here. This time of year often marks the beginning of the end. The summer travel season is coming to a close and it’ll soon be time to pull out warmer clothes. However, it doesn’t have to mark the end of the travel season. It just means travelers need to head further south. And what better place to get plenty of sunshine, warmth, and beach than the Caribbean? Today we head to the southeastern part of the Caribbean Sea and give you a guide to Grenada.

Food. Unlike destinations such as France or Spain, finding quality dining in the Caribbean can be a challenge. Nonetheless, Grenada has numerous restaurants that’ll leave a lasting impression on your vacation. For an extraordinary experience, you’ll have a tough time topping the Lighthouse Ship Restaurant, Vastra Banken. The restaurant is literally aboard a ship. Part of the Le Phare Blue Marina and Boutique Hotel, Vastra Banken features creative dishes that include variations of chicken, steak, and duck. Make sure to save room for dessert. For a versatile, yet fine dining experience, it may be hard to rip you away from Savvy’s Restaurant and Bar at Mt. Cinnamon Hotel. Entrees range from traditional Caribbean dishes to fresh, local seafood to gastro-pub fare. It also features one of the best views in Grenada, overlooking Grande Anse Beach.

Mongolia. If given a world globe, could you put your finger on it? Well you’re at least in the right part of the world if you spin the globe to Asia. The sparsely populated, landlocked country is overshadowed by its neighbors, which include a couple of the world’s largest countries (Russia and China). Nonetheless, it is a country full of surprises and unique travel experiences, especially in Western Mongolia.

Surprising to many is that Western Mongolia is one of the most unspoiled, beautiful regions of the world. Towering snow-capped mountains, remote lakes and rivers, and extraordinary wildlife make Western Mongolia a paradise for outdoor lovers. Some of the world’s most revered and endangered wildlife can be found in this part of Mongolia, including the snow leopard. It’s recommended to have a guide on hand who can navigate you through the right parts of the Western Mongolia wilderness for a chance to see the snow leopard, antelopes, eagles, and other wildlife.
