We are thrilled to share with you today’s guest interview with Margo Millure, the publisher and editor of The Travel Belles, an online magazine featuring lifestyle and travel for women. In this interview, Margo shares her experiences traveling around the world and exploring different cultures and destinations.

See below for the interview (NOTE: All images throughout this post are owned by Margo Millure):

    1. You’ve traveled all over the world! Tell us about your favorite destination and why it’s ranked number 1 on your list.

My favorite destination is France. I have spent a lot of time there, including a two year stint in the early 90s living as a “trailing spouse” with my husband, Dave, who at the time was an executive with Allied Signal. France is remarkably diverse; you can hop on a high-speed train in Paris and within minutes you are in the countryside, and within hours you can be in any corner of the country, each with its own unique character–places as diverse as Champagne, Provence and Brittany. Is the Greek island of Santorini on your wine destination bucket list? We’re guessing probably not. While destinations like France and Italy are often at the top of most people’s list for their wine offerings, Santorini typically isn’t. Nonetheless, this popular Greek island offers unique experiences for the wine connoisseur. Not to mention the beautiful scenery that goes along with it. Who wouldn’t want to sip on a glass of wine by the beach?

While many people may see Santorini as one of Greece’s most popular island paradises, it’s actually known as a wine destination. This has long been the case with wine production dating back hundreds of years. Wine has been widely produced in Santorini and even exported for several centuries. Go into any restaurant or bar in Santorini and you’ll find an extensive selection of locally produced wines. Read More | Comments

Did you know that Chile has one of the most storied histories in wine and is one of the leading producers in the world? While Europe often steals the headlines with its award-winning vineyards and wine producers, it’s not the only region that knows its way around a grape. Chile has been a wine producer for centuries and is finally starting to be recognized, establishing itself as a top wine producer in South America and now competing with the best wine destinations in the world.

Winemaking in Chile began in the 1600s when conquistadors arrived in Chile and started their own vineyards. The original intention was to use it for Catholic mass. However, Chileans acquired quite the taste for wine and wanted it for more than just religious purposes.
